Dayton
Rod & Gun Club 2010 Turkey Shoot Schedule Dates & Time: 12 Sundays beginning September 26th
and going through December 12th Starting at 12:00 Noon. Since 1954 Dayton Rod & Gun Club has invited the sportsman and community at large to practice their
marksmanship skills at our 20 station, 40-yard turkey shoot range. We have had thousands of shooters over the years experience
the fun and sport of our Turkey Shoots. Please join us and tell your friends. Winners receive turkeys, hams and cash prizes!

Types of Shoots: Standard
Turkey Shoot. Each participant chooses to shoot one of twenty 40-yard single target, single shot stations. The person
whose shot pellets come closest to the center of a single X drawn on the target is the winner. In case there is a tie as determined
by the Dayton Rod & Gun Club Judges, there is a tiebreaker target consisting of a small circle with an X in the upper
right hand corner of each target. The person closest to the small circle target is the winner. Winner’s
choice of (1) turkey or (1) ham, or $25 cash per shoot. 12lb-15lb turkeys or 16lb-18lb hams The Money Shoot. Each participant chooses one of twenty, 40-yard, single shot stations to shoot. The person whose shot pellets come closest
to the center of a single X drawn on the target is the winner. In case there is a tie as determined by the Dayton Rod &
Gun Club Judges, there is a tiebreaker target consisting of a small circle with an X in the upper right hand corner. The person
who is closest to the small circle target is the winner. The Money Shoot winner receives 75% of the total cash collected
for the Money Shoot minus $5.00 which covers the cost of shot shells. The Pot Shot. Participants purchase
one of thirty circle targets on a single sheet target. One person takes two shots at the 30 circle target sheet. Whichever circle
is hit closest to the X, the person who selected that circle is the winner. The winner of the “Pot Shot”
receives either a turkey or ham, or half of the total value of circles purchased. The Winner Take All Shot. Participants purchase one of thirty circle targets on a single sheet target. One person takes two shots at the 30 circle
targets. Whichever circle is hit closest to the X, the person who selected that number is the winner. The winner receives
100% of the total cash collected for the Winner Takes All Shot. RULES: 1. Only
12 ga. shot guns are allowed. There are no practice shots allowed.
2. For the cost of each individual shoot, Dayton
Rod & Gun Club provides one 12 ga., low brass, heavy target load, 7 1/2 shot shell. (No outside shot gun shells are allowed).
3. The minimum inside choke diameter can be NO smaller than .680 of an inch. The Range Officer will check each
shooter’s shotgun choke with an official choke gauge tester to ensure all shooters are in compliance. This ensures a
fair shooting competition for all.
4. Shooters have a choice of (1) of (20) target stations to shoot from. All
targets are placed at a distance of 40-yards from each of the 20 shooting stations.
5. For The Standard 20-station
Turkey Shoot, a 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch paper target with a fine line X draw diagonal from corner end to end is placed on each
of the 40-yard target stands. The shooter who places a 7 1/2 pellet closest to the center of the main X determines the winner.
In case of a tie, there is a small tie-breaker circle in the upper right hand corner of the target. This circle will be checked
to see which tied shooter is closest to the small circle. For “The Pot Shot” & “The Winner Takes All”,
a larger target with 30 small circle targets with an X in each are on a single sheet on one target stand.
6. All
Dayton Rod & Gun Club Judge and Range Officer decision are final
7. All shooters and anyone on the shooting
line must abide by the Range Officer commands and rules. Any violation will result in immediate expulsion from the range and
Dayton Rod & Gun Club property.
